Another night of not being able to sleep!

So, since I can't sleep, I might as well comment on what is on my mind at the moment. As I build the blog lists for my three classes in differentiation, I am excited for the discoveries my students will be making and sharing with me and with each other. By the end of this semester, most of them will have developed their own "teacher voices"... and "teacher hearts". And that's a beautiful sight. It's what keeps me coming back to my job each semester. My daughter commented recently on several analogies to butterflies emerging from cocoons... and that has given me the vision of how I must speak softly, walk gently, and observe quietly, as these beautiful butterflies, slowly, gently, but surely, emerge from the cocoons of our elementary ed program, and launch out into their own futures. The spreading and fluttering of their butterfly wings is a miracle that I love to watch each year!

Hi Dr. Peterson! I enjoyed my first day in class yesterday with you. I think it will be a great class and I believe you will be a great teacher! I'm already sold on morning meetings, so I'm excited to learn how to implement it into my classroom.

I have a blog! I love blogging! I've only been at it since July of this year, and it's not as fancy as others I've seen, but I love it anyway! It's scrapbooking on steriods! I think it is so awesome that you blog! :]

Anyway, I just thought I'd say hello! :] Sandy Olson 10-2
